NexusNETVIEW - Performance Management

Network Monitoring - Performance Management

On a single platform, NexusNETVIEW provides integrated network monitoring features for the following networks:

  • GSM/GPRS
  • UMTS
  • PSTN
  • VoIP
  • NGN

NexusNETVIEW uses state-of-the-art non-intrusive probes to provide a wealth of real-time network and signaling performance data. And, as all measurements are automatically and continuously carried out for all monitored signaling links, NexusNETVIEW eliminates the need for measurement scheduling/planning. Results are stored in the database at 5-minute intervals and are fed into several NexusNETVIEW Performance Management applications.

Realtime Performance Monitoring

NexusNETVIEW's Traffic and Performance Monitoring applications depict network Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with on-line spider diagrams, providing different hierarchical "spider" views, such as destination/origination, carrier and link.

Network KPIs may include:

  • Answer Seizure Ratio; Short/Long-Holding Call Rate; Failure due to Network, Customer or Network/Customer Rate
  • Number of concurrent mobile subscribers (home, foreign, attached, activated PDP contents); number of RNC handovers
  • Number of GPRS/UMTS session establishments (attempted, successful, failed)
  • GPRS/UMTS data throughput (GTP/IP packets, GTP tunnels, data/signaling packets, SMS/MMS transactions)

Threshold-Based Alarm Management

When monitoring thousands of links, setting individual threshold values might be impossible. Let the Intelligent Alarm and Threshold Manager take care of meaningful settings:

  • Get corresponding events automatically correlated into the same alarm.
  • Analyze your alarms in on-line and off-line mode.
  • View current and historic alarms and export alarms to umbrella systems (e.g. through SNMP, Q3 or OSS/J APIs).
  • Make use of the powerful filter possibilities in your alarm console.

International Roaming Monitoring

The IRM module within NexusNETVIEW's application suite provides complete insight into roaming to and from foreign network operators, thus securing and maximizing profit in one of the most profitable business areas of a mobile operator. Recognize roaming problems such as reject of location registration, reject of roaming enquiries or database problems (e.g. unknown subscriber) as they occur. And, get comprehensive quality statistics and alarming on relevant message types, such as MAP Operations, MAP Error Causes, INAP Statistics or SCCP UDT/UDTS Statistics.

Network Performance Reporting

NexusNETVIEW includes a wide range of standardized and predefined performance and network monitoring reports, including E.422 and Q.752 reports. In addition, user-specific reports can be quickly and flexibly generated.
